CHARITY AND COMMUNITY WORK

We play an active part in our district, raising funds for good causes, arranging and supporting local events, and giving our time to benefit the community. We take part in organised fundrasing campaigns, as well as organising our own fundrasing events. These include sponsored bike rides and the Fireworks display. We make a special effort to support local charities, and try to raise awareness of them in the community.

During the last few years we've provided finacial support for a number of causes, including those listed below.

St John's Ambulance Cardiganshire to help fund a new ambulance
Round Table South Asia Relief Fund to provide funds to Round Tables in India and Sri Lanka to assist in the rebuilding work after the Tsunami disaster
Ty Glyn Dafis Trust to pay for the servicing of equipment for disabled children at the Centre

In 2006, we gave our time to build an ourdoor recreation area with decking and a BBQ for the Ty Glyn Dafis Trust's centre in Ciliau Aeron. All materials we donated by Lampeter Round Table, and the work was carried out during one day of team effort.

Our annual bonfire and firework display is one of our biggest events. This is an event for all the community, and an opportunity to publicise Round Table's work as well as to raise funds. Several hundred local people come every year to see our display which gets better every year. Thanks are due to Gwili Tractors for the use of their site, and the Town Council for their financial support.

As well as the main firework display, we also organise a display for the residents of Hafan Deg Centre in Lampeter.

During the Christmas period we help to make the town festive by providing shops and businesses with Christmas trees for the outside of their building, and money raised is donated to local good causes.
